Log fires.
starry Skies.
Sea Views.

Each of my cabins has its own little soul, a story to share, a space to rest, dream and simply be. I’ve built them for moments that remind us of what calm and slow living really feels like.

Great place to hide away from the world. No service and lots of peace. We enjoyed sitting around the fire drinking lots of tea while watching the pheasants run around the pond.

Our stay at Simon’s hut was great. It was very pleasant and relaxing and was exactly what we were looking for. We loved waking up to the geese in the pond who had just hatched some chicks a few weeks before and of course a special mention to the friendliest cat -Willow! We could not recommend this stay enough: thank you!

Each Cabin has a Story: Here is How It Started

I built my first cabin when I was 18. It started as an idea in my head and slowly became real, a pile of timber and imagination shaped by long days and cold nights. I tried to sell it, and while that first cabin didn’t find a buyer, it led to me building and selling two large huts off the back of it, proving that the work was worth doing, even when the path wasn’t easy.

When COVID arrived, I had a new idea: I could rent out the cabin as a tiny retreat. I added a bed to the back and drove around local campsites, explaining to owners that I wanted to rent a small pitch on their land to host guests. It wasn’t easy. Doors closed, doubts crept in, but that first year went better than I dared hope.

After a disagreement with the campsite owner, I moved the cabin back to where I had built it and got permission to rent it from there. That’s when the dream grew: I wanted to build an Airbnb business. I didn’t have the money for another cabin, so I sold my van to fund it. I worked long hours, saved every penny, and completed a second cabin, which found its own perfect spot.

The following year, I took out a loan to try to buy land. The dream didn’t pan out, but I poured the money into building a third cabin and found a new site. Each step came with setbacks, storms, and moments of doubt. Two cabins stand strong up there on the hills of Woolacombe, weathering the storms, stubborn like I was to succeed. And the original cabin sits pretty in its birth place of Foxdown.

As of now I have three cabins, hand-built, full of character, and carrying a little piece of my journey. They’re made for quiet mornings, starlit nights, and the kind of pause that reminds you that perseverance, care, and a touch of stubbornness can create something truly special.

Absolutely loved my time there

I had two nights in each of the tiny cabins in Lee, and absolutely loved my time there. They were both exceptionally clean and in great condition, particularly for a rustic cabin. The beds were super comfy and despite visiting in January, during cold weather, we were perfectly warm and cosy with the wood burners heating the cabins up very quickly. The location was peaceful and the views were stunning, the ideal escape into nature which was exactly what I needed. I had two small children with me for the first 2 nights, which was a little cramped but still worked well and they loved the novelty of the cabin and the fire and the location. Loads to do in the surrounding areas- beaches, shops, etc. the host was super helpful and communicative, always responding quickly and resolving any queries. Previous guests had broken a blind in my cabin and he drove straight out to fix it prior to my stay. He also was very welcoming of me bringing my two small kids last minute, and ensured we had extra blankets etc. I’d love to visit again 🙂 thank you!

Most wonderful two nights

We have just got home from the most wonderful two nights away in the shepherds hut in Parkham.
It’s located in such a beautiful and peaceful spot. Also great as a base to explore the near by beautiful beaches and to go for some lovely walks.
The hut itself is beautiful, cosy but has everything you need. And made even more special with the hot tub.
We were greeted by the friendly cat willow and he was happy spending his time with us which we loved.
It’s honestly such the perfect spot to get away and escape everyday life!
We fully intend to return in the future.
100% recommend.
Thankyou for such a lovely stay!
